Abstract

Critical analysis of the possibilities of the determination of the occurrence of life or civilizations in the Universe shows that values of some parameters cannot be determined even approximately at the present level of knowledge of the evolutionary process of matter. Nevertheless, the limits of values, especially of astrophysical parameters are narrowing down successively. The philosophical consequence of the result lies in a more detailed specification of the place of Man in the Nature.
