Abstract
Semantic correspondence and intention can be used as distinctive criteria for the four kinds of semantic information: intentional information, unintentional information, disinformation, and misinformation (4I). In order to seriously tackle standard problems included in the discussion on the kinds of semantic information, e.g., the truthfulness or the misleadingness of information, further elaboration of its possible applications is needed. The paper identifies three basic phases of the simple communication model in which semantic correspondence and intention find such an application. Based on these findings, the paper focuses on the generalization of the suggested 4I model into a form that is more suitable for its utilization in the standard contexts of the philosophy of information.
