Abstract
Professor Polanyi has been developing his philosophical-methothodological conception in opposition to what he calls objectivism and scientism. In spite of the fact that the Marxist authors have devoted many works to criticism of objectivism and scientism, Polanyi blames also the Marxist teaching for objectivism. In his work Polanyi points at the significant task of learning, traditions, language and personal conviction, while ignoring the fact that all these moments had been pointed out by the classics of Marxism-Leninism long before him. Polanyi’s conception of personal knowledge is inconsistent also by emphasizing in it the sovereignty of ethical standards and at the same time the influence of intellectual passions and aesthetic emotious.
