Responses to Masarykism in the Periodical Hlas and in the Philosophical-Sociological Beginnings of A. Štefánek
Abstract
The author concentrated on the investigation of the influence of Masaryk’s philosophy in Slovakia in the end of the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th century. Analysing philosophical activity of the one of the chief representatives of the Voice Movement who dealt largely with philosophic-sociologic questions, A. Štefánek, she discovered in the paper philosophically valuable initiatives in the Voice Movement and so she formed a springboard for a deeper and more global analysis of the response to and the ideologic influence of T. G. Masaryk and the Czech realists in Slovakia. From the view-point of the recent historical-philosphical research and the study of the sources the confrontation of the ideologic acceptance of the views of Tolstoy and Masaryk in the Voice Movement, respectively in the philosophic-sociological beginning of A. Štefánek is of great value.
The near 50th anniversary of the death of T. G. Masaryk was an important inspiration for the choice and working up of this theme from the history of philosophic thought in Slovakia.
