Abstract

The basic principle of Collingwooďs conception is the principle of methodological individualism. This principle represents his belief in human creative capabilities in the field of thinking. The second one named „re-enactment“ means re-thinking the past in the historian's mind in present. This philosophy of history stands for discovering first of all of thoughts, which were the basis of the acts in the past. It can also serve as a basis for the new science „of human affairs“, which would be used as a manual of the „modem European mind“ for complicated relations in the actual time.
