Abstract
The paper discusses the problematic of the nature of humankind in the context of „homo humanus“. It focuses on the possibilities of the humankinds’ unique and authentic self-expression. Thus it sees the human nature in the context of the Greek physis (which comes before the law and the customs, without the influence of the English term nature. According to the author the specific character of contemporary humanism is in its endeavor to give back the humankind its wholeness and their lives a meaningful content. The author introduces also an outline of the modern discourse on authenticity. She considers herself to be on the side of the conceptions, which hold this ideal still for legitimate, but at the same time her basic ground is the context of understanding the concept of „originality“.
