Abstract

Medicine as a science and practice developed in the variant space of human thought whose continuum begins with the immediate concrete generalization of the empirical experience of the doctor and goes on along the continual staircase of theoretical generalization and abstraction as far as the frontier positions of the worldview reflection of medical problems. Problems of the relation of medicine and worldoutlook belong to organic and also traditional problems of the existence and development of medicine both as the theory and practical activity. It is especially in the present time when the dynamic development of the complex of medical sciences, its diferentiation and the medical substantiation of the newly risen sciences is permanently widening borders of this complex, the requirement of the complexity of the worldoutlook framework of medicine is coming to the fore.

In a short summary the worldoutlook of the philosophy of medicine as a specific worldview component of Marxist-Leninist philosophy, as a mediator of its worldview influence on medicine as cognition and practice is fulfilled through the following functions — the cognitive, axiological-normative, cultural educative, practical one.
