Abstract

The question „How should we react to the diversity of morals?“ is one of the most puzzling problems of contemporary philosophy. The author of the paper argues, that there is a surviving truth in moral relativism, if it is modestly construed in the spirit of Montaigne as a reguirement of caution on those, who make, and above all apply, moral judgements, especially if they are powerful and do so in alien moral cultural contexts.
