Abstract

The paperś aim is an analytical analysis of the basic characteristics of the Sellarsian myth of the Given. The author shows, why the story about the Given is a myth, examinating at the same time Sellarś arguments and his opinions on sensations, knowledge and the relationship between noninferential and inferential beliefs. The author also tries to show the significance of Sellarś works, full of examples and written in relieving style, for philosophical thinking.
