Abstract
Andrej Jaszlinszký (1715—117180) was professor of the disciplines of philosophy at the late University of Trnava (1635—1777). The author points out the progressivity of Andrej Jaszlinszký’s teaching in his views of perception. He centralized and placed its origin in the cortex and explained the course of the processes by means of the anatomic and physiological knowledge of the day. Thus he surpassed the teaching of his predecessors and gave a solid foundation for his followers at the University of Trnava. Andrej Jaszlinszký’s teaching is an object of history for the science of today, but with regard to his time the author evaluates its above mentioned part as progressive and meritorious for the development of science in this country. Thus the paper attempts at contributing but modestly to the history of sciences in our territory.
