Hrušovský’s Ontological Conception of Being
Abstract
The paper offers a critical analysis of Hrušovský’s conception of being, which he himself in 1974 presented as the „ontological foundation“ of his dialectical structural theory, outlined already in his first work Invention and development (1935) and further articulated in following works. Attention is paid mainly to the basic notion of this conception, namely the notion of „being as such“, which the author sees as a pure abstraction without any oantological status and without any power to represent the real being. In his view, this notion is unable to avoid subjectivism and agnosticism, by which previous Hrušovský’s works, drawing upon positivist and empirical tradition, were marked.
