About the Journal

Filozofia is an academic journal publishing original articles in a wide range of areas including metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of mind, history of philosophy, social and political philosophy, and related disciplines, such as logic, methodology and ethics. Filozofia is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal and is open to all authors, independently of their methodology and/or theoretical background. Filozofia is published every month except for July and August.

Open access

Filozofia promotes the idea of open science and contributes to it by providing unrestricted open access to its published content in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative. The journal Filozofia is fully funded by its publishers and operates on a non-profit basis. Because of this, all articles published in the journal are accessible to readers free of charge, and neither article processing charges nor article submission charges nor any other fees are required of authors of articles published in, or submitted to, the journal.

Authors are encouraged to archive the published version of their work in institutional repositories and on their personal websites.

Copyrights and licences

Starting from Volume 75 (2020), articles published in Filozofia are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International Public License (CC BY-NC 4.0) which permits the sharing and adapting of licensed material in any medium and format for non-commercial purposes, provided the original work is properly cited, the license is properly linked, and any changes are properly indicated.

Authors hold the copyright to their articles published in Filozofia. We also allow authors to retain publishing rights to their articles without restrictions.

By submitting their articles to Filozofia, authors agree to license their work under the CC BY-NC 4.0. Authors grant the publisher of Filozofia a license to publish their articles in the journal and to identify the journal as the original medium of publication.

The editors and publishers are permitted to store the articles in the journal’s publicly available electronic archive and in any repositories in which the articles published in the journal are stored, without soliciting the authors’ explicit consent, on the condition that the requirements stated by the CC BY-NC 4.0 license are met.

The texts published in the journal Filozofia are included in the Slovak National Corpus - a comprehensive database of linguistic data intended for lexicographic, grammatical and stylistic research of the Slovak language. The Slovak National Corpus is administered and scientifically processed by the Ľudovít Štúr Institute of Linguistics SAS, v.v.i.
