Abstrakt

The paper gives a brief summary of several previous studies on the history of the Austrian philosophy. The ground thesis deffended here is, that there is a genetic explanation of the specific philosophical development on the territory of the old Danube monarchy which makes the origin of the Vienna Circle more easily understood than the other explanations do. From this point of view the paper gives also a survey of the Austrian philosophy.
