Abstrakt

The paper deals with the first phases of the development of the idea of historism in non-Marxist philosophy. We have analyzed the conception of reason and cognition in Dilthey’s philosophy of life and pointed out the limits of Dilthey’s attempt at “historization“ of reason. Further we have pointed out that hermeneutics cannot be a tkey to an understanding of historical development as a regular process.
