Abstrakt

Hrušovský's book Problémy noetiky (The Problems of Noetics, 1948) is one of the most remarkable works of Slovak philosophy of the first half of the 20th century. It offers the first and still the only systematic account of the analytical theory of knowledge. In his book Hrušovský draws on some achievements of Vienna Circle, on the works of B. Russell, A. Ayer, A. Pap and many other protagonists of analytical philosophy. The author focuses mainly on the problematic questions of Hrušovský's conception of empirical knowledge, based exclusively on the subjective data of the consciousness. He examnines the propositions concerning these data and their relationships to the empirical propositions, especially to the propositions concerning the objects of sensation. He explains also some shortcomings and insufficiences in Hrušovský's understanding of these propositions and their negative consequences in his theory of knowledge.
