Abstract

The author points out that Szántó has comprehended the materialist dialectics creatively first of all because he comprehended its nucleus, the teaching on contradictions as a unity and on mutual elimination of contradictions. In this sense Szántó was, in the Czechoslovak conditions, the first and the most consequential propagator of the Leninist conception of dialectics and the philosopher — communist, who, es early as in the thirties, applied the materialist dialectics at solving the questions of natural and social sciences and of the problems of the revolutionary practice in the policy of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia.
