Kuhn’s Theory of Science
Abstract
The author analyzes Kuhn’s theory of science and in part some of the critical remarks of non-Marxist authors on Kuhn’s work „The Structure of Scientific Revolutions“. He focuses on the relation of the normal and the extraordinary science. He does not consider Kuhn’s classification of science to be exact enough and recommends a more subtle typology of scientific methods as elaborated by Filkorn (a strong, semi-strong, semi-weak, weak method). Author disagrees with Kuhn’s radical discontinualism in principle In the evolution of science and refuses also Kuhn’s „elimination“ of the concept „truth“ in the phllosophical-methodogical analysis of science. He will critically evaluate Kuhn’s opinion on these issues in the second paper.
