Abstrakt
The study is an attempt to analyse briefly rie the ontological, gnoseological and ethical-social views of Gabriel Marcel. The author takes as her starting point the confrontation of Heidegger’s and Marcel’s interpretation of the ontological question from the contraction of Heidegger’s so-called fundamental) and Marcel’s concrete ontology. She then processes to point out Marcel’s anti-scientific and anti-rationalistic arguments in the question of Being, leading 1. in ontology to the concept of being as a problem and being as a mystery; 2. in epistemology to the theory of the so-called primary (abstract) and secondary (the so-called ccmrete or renovátory) reflexion; 3. in the field of social and interhuman relations, to an analysis of the categories of “to have“ and “to be“. The primary design of this study is not polemical. It strives to understand Marcel’s philosophical andeavours, to uncover their basic motives, the logic of their enfolding, and in particular their humanistic value. It does not deny the presence of a certain significance and objectivity in Marcel’s philosophical formulation and reformulation of numerous questions, though, on the other hand, it does point to one-sidedly reductionistic and mystifying conclusions in this philosophy which identifies all the scientific-theoretically oriented philosophy with “scienticism“ and abstract philosophy with an estranged and deformed cognitive activity. In her conclusion the author mentions that Marcel’s discovery of inter-subjectivity also remains but a noble vision and a metaphysical postulate, for it lacks a theoretical justifiability of the ethical or humanistic axiom.
