Since the 70-ies the TA movement brought new approaches to technology - presenting social and economic analysis of alternatives of its development for political decision-making. A brief outline of ТА streams is offered. Negative effects of modem technology usually extend into the distant future and raise new kinds of responsibility problems, examined by "future ethics". Complexity of organizational, legal, and economic contexts of technology require also new types of responsibility, both individual and collective, civil and professional ones. The author pleads for reconstruction of value hierarchy - towards a biocentric orientation. New strategies in the conflict between economy and ecology are asked supporting "isles of positive economic deviation" until ecologic products and technologies prevail in market economy.
