Abstrakt

Has the Catholic modernism of the first decades of the 20th century contributed to the revitalization of the authentic meaning of the Christianity, or has it been just a further distortion of the latter? The paper tries to answer the question on the background of the recent developments in the Catholic thought. It suggests, that there is an analogy between the fortunes of the Catholic modernism and the life and evangelical mission of Jesus Christ.
