(Original title: Internacionalizmus, vlastenectvo a súčasnosť)
Filozofia, 38 (1983), 4, 447-456.
Type of work: Papers
Publication language: Slovak
The author deals with problems of internationalism and patriotism from the viewpoint of their philosophic aspects. Proletarian and socialist internationalism is characterized as the ideology of the proletariat which substantiates its international interests and aims. Patriotism is defined, according to Lenin’s opinions, as a component of social emotionality of people representing their emotional relation to national collectives and minorities. The author tries to analyze the meaning of categories such as „the national — international“ and „nationalist — internationalist“ and their difference in content. Whereby he states that the importance of their differentiation is determined by the fact that they fulfill the function of important logical and methodologic means for formulating the aims of Leninist national policy. In the end the author underlines the historical character of socialist internationalism and patriotism, i.e. they must correspond to the period of development of socialist countries.
