Abstrakt

The paper aims at the articulation of several fundamental theses concerning the problem which was not a subject of historical-philosophical investigation in Slovakia as yet. The author is concerned to show the philosophical reception of Sartre’s work in Slovakia in the 60-ties. A special attention is paid to those interpretations, which, as contrasted to the dominant tendency to see Sartre as a "philosopher of anxiety and hopelessness", represented a more differentiated approach. These interpretations discovered for the Slovak reader the substantial consequence of Sartre’s philosophy - the challenge to look for the ways out of the existential situations. She points out the misleading conclusions deriving from the false indentification of the core of Sartre’s philosophy (reducing onthology to ethics). A Slovak philosopher Ján Bodnár’s argumentation and achievements in researching Sartre’s philosophy are examined as well.
