Abstrakt

The core of T. G. Masaryk’s philosophically anchored concept of the common good as the best order reveals itself as a democratically articulated Christian Platonism in terms of an essential respect to the other’s soul sub specie aeterni. In other words, a primarily ethical and existentially spiritual consensuality makes meaningful, and on principle interconnects private and public spheres into an inherent democratic whole sui generis. This, by Masaryk radically, and originally implicitly inferred Common Good of democratic civilization indicates a historically new shaping of social human nature. The precondition for the disposal of the current covering, namely oblivion, of that common basic origin as the common ethically philosophical denominator of both successor states of the Czechoslovak Republic demands an understanding of the true historically caused roots of the present day situation.
