Philosophy, by means of its dialectical analysis of the object, anticipated the principal knowledge of sciences and introduced namely the notion of system, in its materialistic interpretation and thus it conditioned the development of medicine. The neo-positivist attempts to eliminate from the categorial fund of science the philosophical categories is an elimination of categorial consciousness, conditioned by non-scientific interests. The exaggeration of the contradiction between formal logic and dialectics belongs to this attempt1, which at the same time continues also ip the effort to separate from philosophy the branches that lose thus their raison d’etre. Medicine as humane in its scientific-practical and scientific-theoretical aspect presupposes the philosophical culture of the physician as the only possibility of blocking the undesirable effects of specialization and disintegration of the physician’s consciousness, in which there co-exists an extensive group of branches of natural and social sciences. The organizing element of this group of branches, from which also stems the formal point of view of the special objective sphere of sciences, is the relation of the physician and the patient. Thus a system of medical branches rises, in which the branches directed towards the physiology of health are the relevant basic sciences, but bvliich are joined also by sciences contributing to the essential positive solution of the relation forming medicine.
