Abstract
The author considers, in the present paper, the task and the function of Marxist-Leninist philosophy in the life and practice of socialist society in general, and especially in the stage of building-up a developed socialist society. Extraordinary attention is paid to the content of individual functions of philosophy and their classification. In his considerations the author starts namely from the tašk of philosophy towards practice and life of the society in which philosophy has the highest aim and the deepest sense. This task is solved in the dialectical unity with the inner task of philosophy, directed to the proper permanent improvement. The author indicates the practical-changing function as the elementary one of Marxist-Leninist philosophy. It is from this function that all other functions of Marxist philosophy start, in it they connect and into it they flow. It is with the practical-changing function that such elementary functions of Marxist philosophy are organically connected: the theoretical-cognitive function, the world-outlook function and the ideological one. From these elementary functions the author derives further functions of Marxist philosophy as: the critical-revolutionary one, the methodological one, the integrational, the educational the axiological, the organizational-controlling one. All these functions are in dialectical connection and conditionality. The revolutionary practice is their integrational basis.
