Abstrakt

While in the first Czechoslovak republic catholic philosophy in Slovakia was typical for neothomism, under the so-called Slovak state it was increased by blondellsm and partially by intuitive realism. Protestant philosophy in this period could not be attached to any philosophic school. Under the Slovak state theological philosophy gained total supermacy over the lay one which was pushed back into illegality (Marxism) or was rather tolerated (neopositivism). Blondelism, represented by Š. Polakovič, was ideologically the most engaged from among these schools. Protestant philosophy in this period was represented by S. Š. Osuský, known as the author of the First Slovak History of Philosophy. Alike catholic authors he also strived to prove that philosophy was a servant-maid of theology only.
